
Jourdan Imani Keith is an award-winning poet, playwright, naturalist, activist, a Hedgebrook Alumna, and a keeper of culture and history in the Griot ( gree-oh ) storytelling tradition. Jourdan is also the founder and director of the gender, ethnicity and environmental justice organization Urban Wilderness Project, and continues the service she began in 2006 as Seattle’s Poet Populist by teaching creative writing and performance to youth. Her memoir, Tugging at the Web is forthcoming from University of Washington Press.
