“My name is ChrisTiana ObeySumner, and my pronouns are them/they. I am a Black and Indigenous, Queer, Non-Binary, and Multiply disabled person. I am the CEO of Epiphanies of Equity, LLC, a social equity consulting firm that particularly specializes in social change, intersectionality, antiracism, and disability justice.
For almost two decades, I’ve dedicated my life and career to amplifying the importance of social equity — particularly narrative identity development and it’s role in cultural humility and allyship, bringing awareness to the lived experience of racialized ableism and externalizing antiblackness, and dismantling the psychosocial paradigms that underlie social injustice and inaction. On my off-time, I love reading, watching pro-wrestling, and spending hours staring at YouTube videos of marble runs and recipe videos.”
6:00-6:30 p.m. — Social time
6:30-7:45 p.m. — Program begins with land acknowledgement and call to action,
followed by featured and open-mic storytelling; each story followed by group conversation
Under the Rainbow: Storytelling for the LGBTQIA+ and Allied Community takes place every second Monday for teens and adults. Sign up for open mic at the event. LGBTQIA+ tellers are prioritized; allies are welcome in the audience and to participate in post-story conversation. No one is obligated to tell a story.
The monthly storytelling show Under the Rainbow is supported by Edmonds Library, Edmonds Arts Commission, Seattle Storytellers Guild, Edmonds Neighborhood Action Coalition, and Pride Foundation
