Arts in Action: A Free Live-Stream

Arts in Action is about empowering and displaying the voices and artistic talent of local youth, our future leaders. That is the resounding theme of Arts in Action, scheduled for March 12 from 6:30-7:30 P.M.

The event will be live-streamed from the Edmonds Center for the Arts and will celebrate student activism and feature art, music, dance, and spoken word performances. Event participants are students ranging from elementary to college age. The program is sponsored by the Edmonds School District, the Edmonds Center for the Arts, and the Communities of Color Coalition.

Several local community members played a vital role in coordinating this event, which stemmed from exploring issues that have affected communities of color in the region.  Planning committee member Courtney Wooten explains,
”this event was born from a collaboration with parents, teachers, and activists in the Edmonds School District who have been working to support the Black Lives Matter Year of Purpose in our schools.”
