Description by Manny Lopez:
FILMS THAT CENTER ON ROMANCE have this tendency to present love as this destined thing, and often even in LGBTQ ones, the story will still center on one love for a person, or one great love for a person. And that all other loves will pale in comparison. This film has two women meet when one of woman, Lucia, her fiancé dies, and his estranged sister returns after hearing the news. The two women support each other in their grief, and slowly develop a beautiful love for each other as they are the last people who are there for the other. It is a wonderful story about overcoming grief, and the healing that can come after such an incredible loss. It also demonstrates that even after the loss of a great love, there is still love to be had and experience. I especially enjoy that the end of the film shows them together, and shows how their lives will go forward from their collective loss.
The Firefly is available to rent for $3.99 on Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, and YouTube.
